On the occasion of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo, the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will host the 2025 China (Guangxi)-ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation and Development. This session of the Cooperation and Development Conference consists of a number of activities, including 5 parallel conferences focusing on distinctive industries. As an important part of these events, the Parallel Session on “Fostering Advanced Manufacturing Craftsmanship via AI Applications”， hosted by Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity, will be held in Nanning, Guangxi, China on 16 September 2025. The conference is organized by the Guangxi Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee of Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing, the Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity, and the International Society for Intelligent Manufacturing (ISfIM).
The conference focuses on the cultivation of intelligent manufacturing talents between China and ASEAN. The conference will adhere to the principles of joint discussion, co-construction, and shared benefits, and uphold the purpose of “building a platform for cooperation and exchange, exploring new paths for craftsman cultivation, focusing on AI-enabled manufacturing, and promoting in-depth integration and coordinated development of China-ASEAN vocational education”. The agenda will include key sessions such as keynote speeches, the Opening Ceremony for China-ASEAN Vocational Education Alliance for High-End Equipment, and round table dialogues.
The conference has received strong support from the Vocational Education Center of the Ministry of Education of China, the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Research Center, and Goertek Inc. It has invited experts and scholars including Gao Fenglin, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions; Chen Xiaoming, Chief Researcher of the Machinery Industry Education Development Center; Pan Zhide, Vice President of Nanyang Polytechnic (Singapore); Wang Yi, Executive Deputy Director of the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Research Center; Zhou Wei, Professor of Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and President of the International Society for Intelligent Manufacturing (ISfIM); Li Wenlong, Second-level Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Changjiang Distinguished Professor; Ajaz Ahmad Butt, PhD of Universiti Brunei Darussalam; Xiao Songshan, Assistant President of Tianjin University and Chinese Director of the Dean’s Office of Tianjin University-Georgia Institute of Technology Shenzhen Institute; Wu Huiyuan, Vice President of Wuxi Vocational University of Technology; Bangtong Xiayawaeng, Vice Dean of the Laos Vocational Education Development Research Institute; and Chen Dong, Chairman of Qingdao Haizhichen Group, to deliver keynote speeches. These speeches aim to improve the quality of high-skilled talent cultivation in the manufacturing industry in the AI era, serve the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, make vocational education exchanges and cooperation a practical platform for building a closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future, share the dividends of cooperation, and promote the high quality development of talent cultivation between the two sides.
